CYCLE - DVD PROJECTION

In Cycle, images of ceaselessly churning, gushing and foaming water are projected on to the gates of the dry dock, whose principal function is to keep out the tidal waters of the Mersey and beyond.

The bright circular disc of projected light recalls not only the moon and thus the tides, by which movements of ships into and out of the docks are governed, but also our planet seen from space. The powerful swirls of the water resembling the weather patterns determine the shipping forecast and safety at sea.
